The Sequoyah National Research Center is offering the Sequoyah Chapbook Award to emerging Native poets. Though this is named for Sequoyah, the brilliant Cherokee who invented the tribe's syllabary, poets need not be specifically Cherokee. However, they must be enrolled citizens (please note that it is "citizens," not "members"!) of a tribe recognized by the United States federal government. Details here, at
