Default Question about SASEs to UK

How do you do it? I tried online but that didn't seem to work since I never heard back.

Some time ago I bought a pile of UK stamps from the Royal Mail online, and haven’t yet exhausted them. They sent them to me airmail. Go to their website and see if you can arrange that. They even included a clever folding cardboard metric balance to weigh the envelopes.

Just tell them to email you their response and that you don't need your submission returned. I can't imagine why they would want to put people to the trouble of arranging return postage in the age of email.

Rogerbob’s comment is apt. The SASE requirement may be a fossil, or somehow more aimed at UK people who could want to reuse their manuscripts (again, a vestige of typewriter days), or maybe returning the papers with comments is how they roll. I said I still have a fair number of those stamps. I didn’t even use any with material I sent to Jayne Osborn.

Thank you Allen and Roger. I'm going to take Roger's advice from now on and just ask politely to receive an email response in the cover letter.
