Hi Susan,

Great review; and I'm going to buy the book. I think my mum might enjoy it too. She's a fan of form and we have a lot of connections to Ireland.

Best wishes,
Fliss

Fliss, I hope you and your mother enjoy the book. If you both like form and poems about Ireland, there is a good chance you will.

Susan

That's a nicely done review, Susan. I've been meaning to buy one of Julie's books for a while now, and just ordered this one.

That's great news, Andrew. Reviewing is ideally a kind of matchmaking, bringing together good books and the readers who are most likely to enjoy them.

Mothers of Ireland is fierce, unsparing family portraiture. Julie Kane's Paper Bullets is a volume of light verse at its smartest and funniest. This is a poet with range like the Starship Enterprise. Thank you, Susan, for introducing her to some appreciative new readers.

Thanks, Chris. I agree with you that Paper Bullets is very funny and that it is the rare poet who can do comedy and tragedy equally well.
