It doesn't strike me as a literal contradiction, since there are possible explanations. For example, let's say they discovered a never-aired episode of an I Love Lucy decades after it was made. The network promises to broadcast the "never-aired episode" and we start to talk about it, referring to it as the "never-aired episode." After it is broadcast the first time, the network broadcasts it again. We are accustomed to calling it the "never-aired episode," however, so we still call it that (to the consternation of the literalists and grammar police) even though the re-broadcasts are reruns.

The whole poem has a twilight-zone atmosphere; the never-aired rerun captures that perfectly, like a haiku within the villanelle.

Who says it's paradox or meant to be paradox so defined, Sam? It's a variety of wrongness and strangeness befitting the temporal gestalt of the poem and the overwhelming question of the uncracked code, no? I'm pretty good about having my work critiqued, I think. Why else come here. But, sheesh... I'm still shocked into a kind of numbness, a sort of unresponsive perambulatory state, by your original question.

Thanks Martin.

Roger, you're ruining it ~,:^0

Thanks guys,
