I suppose because initially I had in mind a continuous, flowing – indeed, gobby – 'confessive' monologue in the Robert Lowell fashion. It didn't turn out that way, no neo-heroic couplets & a much lighter tone, but though it would divide, at convenient & regular full stops, intuitively I like it the way it is.
