My reviewing style works at both explaining the work and trying to interest people in the work, so I often make unexpected comparisons. This review included comparisons to T.S. Eliot, Alanis Morrissette, Billy Collins, E.A. Robinson & Thom Gunn. My intent with the Mary Oliver reference was only to flag that Campo's approach to nature poems is the opposite of Oliver's, and for me it was a sign of respect to make Oliver the standard for comparison.
While I freely admit that Mary Oliver was never on my personal "top ten" list, I did discuss her legacy respectfully and at length shortly after her death:
