I had a complaint from someone who couldn't access the site, and the server gurus advised they corrected the problem, but now Janet's having a problem.

If anyone else is having trouble accessing Folly, please let me know:

Folly

I've only had two complaints, both from that far off continent of wonder, but I want to double check so no one else is inconvenienced.

Thanks.

Thanks again for going to so much trouble. A small nit to pick in your message: There is one far-off continent of wonder; there is also an even-farther-off island of wonder, small but perfectly formed. (Well, a group of islands, really. That was poetic license.)

I have been trying sporadically to access folly - still not luck.

Jerry,
My brother in New Zealand sent this message:

"The document contains no data" :-(

I wonder if it's written using some non-standard Microsoft -only code.
People not using IE can't see it. It wouldn't be the first time this
kind of thing has happened."

Another New Zealander friend was also unable to open it.

My Australian friends have had no problems.

Thanks for bothering.
Janet

I have never had any trouble accessing folly down under.

(But now, alas, my eyesight is suffering for it.)

The pages are simple, no-frills HTML, and looked fine in Netscape last time I checked.

Rose,
I'm sure you are right. You think I'm difficult? You should meet my brother.

But a gentle soul who is a respected photo-historian also can't open it and he is modest and has a large collection of gramophones with horns and other oddities. He would listen patiently. I wonder what is causing the glitch?

Janet

PS:
I've sent your message to my brother. He usually replies quickly. He must be out.

I can't get Folly up at all in Opera, FireFox or IE. Haven't been able to for months, despite repeated efforts, including cache-clears. I've been too embarrassed to mention it though. Thought it was just me. Folly dysfunction. Seems I'm not alone.

The same thing happened with the BBC site. My son works at my ISP, island internet. He says that {{{something very technical}}} happens that means a particular site can be inaccesible for a while. It's been a long while with Folly. I could do with a bit.
