Haven't read the General Talk item, but assume there was some good moderatorial reason for deletion if this was done deliberately.
The above is a quotation from the "Zombie" thread on Non-Met. Doesn't this strike you a bit like "But he's our President and Commander-in-Chief and I think it's best we trust him, especially in times of war" (not to be OTT on the war business)? But what could be a "good moderatorial reason"? The poem may share a supernatural theme with a poem by one considered a poetic god around here, but that clearly doesn't rise to plagiarism. I prefer to "assume" that the deletion was an accident of some kind, as I really can't wrap my head around any other possibility.
Very best to all,
Mike Slipp
P.S. Sorry for the snarky tone on Richard Wilbur. He's a god to me as well, but really, how could any of us dare a line if we kept remembering that so-and-so has a poem on blackerries or lilacs or junk or clipped toads or vampires or boring parties?
