Maybe it's more of a niche expression than I thought, but "as finale" (not "as a finale") is definitely a stock phrase in the classical music world, as the following examples show. (Then again, I don't want to limit my translation's audience to classical music junkies, so maybe I should reconsider it.)

Conception of this work, with a 'most unhurried adagio' as finale, filled Tchaikovsky with delight, as he told his Davidov nephew: 'You cannot imagine the bliss I feel after becoming convinced that time has not yet run out'.

Rodrigo would be fine as an initial marshaling theme, followed by Ravel [...], and perhaps the 1812 Overture as finale.

Then ensued the Hundred Days, Waterloo, and the occupation of Paris for which last event Beethoven composed a chorus, 'Estist vollbracht,' as finale to a dramatic piece by Treitschke.

As finale to the concert, Mendelssohn’s music to Athalia, combined with a melodramatic poem, was executed by the members of the Göttingen choral society.

Themes from the song would recur throughout the 3rd Symphony, completed in 1896; in fact, at one point he conceived of the song itself as finale to the 3rd, renamed Was mir das Kind erzählt (What the Child tells me).

Hi Julie,
I guess I am convinced. The meaning is clear.
