Default London reading tonight...

Very short notice. but it was a bit of a Roonery-Garlandy thing. I am on my way to London, acting as roadie for Angela France, who is doing her one-woman show "The Hill" at the Torriano Meeting House in Kentish Town.

But the support reader has had to cancel and I've been asked to step in. After no hesitation, I've agreed. So me and my bestie will be In Town Tonight. Just in case anybody is in the area.

Aahh good luck Annie! I'm closer than Nemo but still too far for an impromptu jaunt to the Big Smoke unfortunately.

I would have come, Annie, as I'm only an hour away but I've just returned from a 24-hour flying visit to the seaside at Great Yarmouth.

I'm sure you'll have had a brilliant evening. Speak to you soon!

Jayne

Thanks for the good wishes. It went really well. Angela's show was enjoyed and appreciated. She's a hard act to follow.

But the super Torriano audience of louche Londoners were totally on my wavelength and it was a joy to read to them. I closed with one of what Aaron P calls my "proleptic death poems" and it got a surge of applause. Make of that what you will.
