The Plywood Edition of The Shit Creek Review may now be viewed at
http://www.shitcreekreview.com/

The little canoe is laden with poesy metrical and non-metrical, as well as lashings of art and an emergency supply of prose.

It has acquired a strange parasitic attachment called "II". To investigate this bizarre growth on the plywood hull of the Shit Creek Canoe of Poesy, just click on the big II on the front page.

This is very good stuff Paul. A serious journal is evolving. Original and thoughtful. (I would never say "Edgy" Rose--wonderful essay.)
Surprising poems and essays and an "in depth" look at one of our favourite poets.

I just finished sending Rose a note complimenting her on the essay, and saw Janet's comment above. Great essay, Rose - I thought it was one of the outstanding things in the issue. And a job well done by everybody.

Rose's comment on our Beowulf (see Takes on Tim) is the funniest thing I ever read in a literary journal.

I ran right over (okay clicked) and read Rose's essay. It's great! Funny, fabulous! I'm printing it out. I'm sending it to my friends.

Had a good laugh at footnote 4: Kleinzahler, Keillor, and Kelleher, indeed!

Okay, now I'm going back to read the poems. . . .

Toni

Tim deserves the acolades, and he's definitely been up that creek, without a paddle, many a time.

Tim as subject made II a very easy thing to do well: there was so much material and so many people keen to help. The Eratospherean contribution to both SCR and II was immense - greater even than for issues #1 and #2. I feel that SCR (+II now) has continually improved, and this could not have happened without Erato. This issue especially is a real credit to the creativity and comradeship of this board.

Paul, you should recruit Brian Dion and Dave McClure, fine poets both, to the Eratosphere. It was fun to work on this project, and I appreciate Paul's and Nigel's giving me such an embarrassing amount of virtual ink, not that I think I merit it. This was the fourth exhaustive interview I've given, and I think the best. Nobody here will believe it, but I'm much less of a hothead than I used to be! The Takes on Tim were a delightful surprise, and I thank Rhina, Janet, Alicia, Henry, Rose, the EfH, Sam, and Wendy V for their affectionate comments. I thank Daniel Haar for his new essay on the "Catholic Sufi," and Alan and Wakefield for permission to reprint their insightful essays on my books. I must say it was a real pleasure to work with Paul on this project, and to anyone who receives such an invitation from SCR, you're in for a treat.

Congrats to all on a genuinely excellent issue.
I was delighted to see the well-deserved tribute to Tim.
Best regards,
David
