Unsplendid is hosting a Launch Reading on Saturday, September 1, in Baltimore.
There will be readings by Greg Williamson, Peter Campion, Elizabeth Hadaway, Alexander Long, Traci O'Dea, and me, and Editors Douglas Basford, Jason Gray, and Erin Sweeten will host.
It will begin at 4:30 pm and end at 6 pm, and the location is:
Area 405
405 E. Oliver Street (just 4 blocks east of Penn Station)
(directions and map at http://www.area405.com)
It's a fine publication, having published Alicia Stallings as well as Mark Jarman, John Poch, Jennifer Reeser, Geoffrey Brock, and Peter Campion, and I hope any members in the Baltimore area will try to come—I'd love to meet you and it should be a delightful event!
Unsplendid will publish "Adieu, Cruel Girl," one of my Ronsard translations, on September 1.
Here's the website for the current issue:

P.S. For poets' bios, please see Douglas Basford's nearby thread on the Launch.

Hi Terese
Excellent news, Terese! I will plan to be there. As you may know, I live in Baltimore and the Hopkins campus is but a short walk from my apartment building -- the athletics field is visible from the front steps. Let me know where the reading will be. I will look forward to seeing you again and hearing you read.
All the best
Chris

Hi Terese,
I can't be there, but I have a sister in Catonsville who would love to go.

Thanks, Terese, for posting this. You beat me to the punch--I'm building up my 15 replies as a new 'Sphere member so that I can post a full announcement (via a new topic) myself...
We have a venue, I think, but I want to reconfirm before I say where it will be.
Minor point: Unsplendid is not actually sponsored by The Writing Seminars at Johns Hopkins, but it might be plausibly called "associated with" since all four editors are graduates of the program, and I currently teach there. Because of the roughly simultaneous rebirth of The Hopkins Review (50 years dormant) and the emergence of Unsplendid, the latter journal has been "off-campus."
All best,
Doug

Chris, thanks so much for planning to come, and I look forward to seeing you again too! As Douglas says below, we should know the venue soon.
Catherine, thanks for letting me know about your sister, so glad she can make it! I will look for a family resemblance.
Douglas, thanks for both the information and invitation, and welcome to Eratosphere! It will be good to meet you and hear your poems as well.

Terese, Doug, Chris,
I'm going to try to make the trip, and if so, look forward to meeting all of you.
(I once lived in Baltimore, too.)
