Alex has been working so hard lately, with all the remodeling, battling invaders and keeping the wolf from the door, that I think he needs a good roasting.

P.S. Thanks, Alex

It's hard to roast
with wit that sparks,
if one can't post
ad hom remarks.

I'm not great at coming up with humor on the spot, and I have been the recent cause of headache for Alex just because I was having trouble posting to Discerning Eye. Others will forgive my utterly prosaic, nonfunny intrusion here. I just want to say THANK YOU, ALEX, for all you do.

And anyone who wants to turn my posting woes into something we can laugh at should feel free!

Alex started up the board
to lure in poetesses.
A grateful harum's his reward
for his perceived largesses.

Poet's, I will make this terse,
to spare you more haranguing.
But while we're left to bang out verse,
you KNOW what HE is banging.

Bugsy

(but I only dictated it from Roger Slater... honest.)

Alex likes a good conceit
from poets who are not too beat
and counters aggressivity
with anti-connectivity.

Ah yes, those fabled poets of yore,
drinking, fighting, pissing in their beer -
creative, yes, but always waging war -
don't want that type on the Eratosphere!
