Okay, can we get some fun and excitement going here before Valentine's day has come and gone again? I'm cheating by kicking this thread off with something I wrote last year, but if a few join in this thread, I'll try to write something new and better for the fun of it. As I recall, Frank H. didn't much like this one, but my husband at least pretended that he did I am a cat lover, but this was not written for a cat!

Gettin' Cozy
– February 07,

Let me crochet for you, my Valentine,
a cozy you can easily slip on.
Then I will draw your bath and pour some wine;
we'll play with yarn until the break of dawn.

Such games will give us pleasure as I find
the balls I need - no hurry -- let me see
which colors I like best, will you be kind
if I should change my mind? Now come with me,

and bring your glass, dear, I'm not through with you.
I want to make a cozy that will fit,
but every time I check, it seems you grew
a little thicker. Honey won't you sit

down in the bubbles? I'll give you a rub.
Who needs a cozy in a hot bathtub?

Nice one, Anne. So this was not for your cat? I see why your husband liked it.

Home from Work

When he gets home, he walks to her
And kisses her upon her lips,
And moves his hand below her waist
To feel the flesh between her hips.
He says, "Stop cooking for a while."
"The food might burn. Now, go away!"
Another kiss. "Ah, let it burn."
Sometimes she does. Perhaps, today.

With a little luck, yes, maybe even on the kitchen counter

Nice one, Frank. Thanks for stopping by to play Valentine games with me. You've turned the heat up a notch.... ahhhh..... Bring em on, folks!

Tomorrow the Kids return from Summer Camp.

I was bent over
a kitchen counter, focused
on a pair of brown shoes,
size four or five,
their laces tied
like Glasswing butterflies.

My glance silk-slipped
over lithe calves
and pared hips nuzzled snug
in a white tulip bosoming
into a smile, ripened
by locks of honeycomb.

Sun-spice pollinated
the table cloth
and we sipped the nectar
of Mascarene orchids
under island spells
before sharing our meusli.

Chris,

This is so erotic, and quite lovely. I am quite pleasantly surprised! I seriously doubt I could top this one of yours easily. Thanks so much for joining us in our Valentine amusements.

Anne

Okay, everyone. Your poem doesn't have to be erotic to post it in this Valentine's thread.

I'm still brainstorming for something to post here by Thursday. In the meantime, I will post the only erotic haiku I ever wrote. It may seem like I'm really heavily into erotic poetry, but the truth is, I think the total number of erotic poems I've ever written is about 5 or less. Also, this may or may not be a haiku - I never studied haiku....

Rosebuds and tulips
watered by your loving touch
Fill my waiting vase

Anne ***blushes*** and nervously wonders if any of her kids or relatives or people she works with will find this thread and think she is bad

I have only written one erotic poem (so far), an old FV thing:

Risk

You lying naked in a wet
towel, covered with fierce
thirsty bees. The heat buzzing

almost as loud as wings.
Me in a wet towel, too, with a sun
so hot it knocks larks from the sky.

Honey badgers have been found
stung to death in hives.

Another Anti-Valentine

Anne, you're right.

- Mark, I'm still mulling over your poem, trying to figure out if your couple is lying happily in a very sticky afterglow of satisfying sex or what? There seems to be a hint at a 'killer' orgasm.

-~-..-~--~-..-~--~-..-~--~-..-~--~-..-~--~-..-~--~-..-~-

- Ralph, I actually thought your poem had more of an "ouch" than Mark's was due to its humiliating lowering of the female image to a rather animal-like status.

-~-..-~--~-..-~--~-..-~--~-..-~--~-..-~--~-..-~--~-..-~-

- Jan, amazing! That is so cool. I enjoyed both looking at it and reading it. I'm more afraid of Cupid than I am of vampires! How you formatted that on this board I will never know. Dare I say, your Cupid is, well, pretty?

*** Thanks everyone for posting these Valentine's amusements. We still have several days left for more hearty fun.
