Adam Elgar’s poems have appeared in a range of journals including Poetry Review, Stand, Warwick Review, Magma, Orbis, and Iota. He also translates verse and prose from Italian and French. The novelist and scientist Alessandra Lavagnino is collaborating with him on the complete translation of her work. His version of her novella Truth and Flies is published by Troubador Storia, and her short stories have appeared in Stand and New Walk magazines in Elgar’s translations. He has recently collaborated with the poet Valerio Magrelli on a set of sonnets for the Italian Cultural Institute in London (A Sentimental History of a Restoration, Alma Classics).
      His ongoing translation of the complete Don Camillo stories by Giovanni Guareschi is published by Pilot Productions. He translates for The International Journal of Psychoanalysis and the Vatican Museums, and until 2013 was the Translation moderator at Able Muse’s online literary forum Eratosphere.
