Catherine Chandler was born in New York City, grew up in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, and currently lives in Saint-Lazare, Quebec, and Punta del Este, Uruguay. She is the author of two full-length collections of poetry, Lines of Flight (Able Muse Press, 2011) and Glad and Sorry Seasons (Biblioasis, 2014), a collection of sonnets, This Sweet Order (White Violet Press, 2012) and two chapbooks, For No Good Reason and All or Nothing. She lectured in Spanish at McGill University’s Department of Translation Studies for many years and also acted as McGill’s International Affairs Officer for Latin America. She also taught Spanish at Concordia University’s Language Institute. Winner of the Howard Nemerov Sonnet Award and The Lyric quarterly award, her poetry, essays and literary translations from French and Spanish have appeared in numerous print and online journals and anthologies throughout the English-speaking world. Recently retired, Catherine teaches English as a Second Language and Music in the Commission scolaire des Trois-Lacs.
