Rachel Hadas is Board of Governors Professor of English at the Newark campus of Rutgers University. The most recent of her many books of poems is The Golden Road (Northwestern University Press, 2012); a memoir, Strange Relation, was published by Paul Dry Books in 2011. In preparation now are a book of prose pieces, Talking to the Dead, forthcoming from Spuyten Duyvil Press, and a new poetry collection, Questions in the Vestibule. Rachel Hadas’s translation of Euripides’ Helen was published by the Penn Drama Series in 1998; her book of translations, from Ancient and Modern Greek, Latin, and French poetry, Other Worlds Than This, was published by Rutgers University Press in 1994. Rachel Hadas’s awards include a Guggenheim fellowship, the O.B. Hardison poetry Award from the Folger Shakespeare Library, and an Award in Literature from the American Academy and Institute of Arts and Letters.
