Dorie deWitt LaRue’s first novel, Resurrecting Virgil (The Backwaters Press), won the Omaha Prize for Fiction. Her poetry collections include The Private Frenzy (University of Nebraska Press) and Seeking the Monsters (New Spirit Press). She is a recipient of a Louisiana DOA Fellowship, a Shreveport Regional Arts Council Fellowship, and four grants from the Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities. Her work has appeared in The Southern Review, The American Poetry Review, The Massachusetts Review and elsewhere. LaRue, a PhD in Creative Writing and Early American literature (University of Louisiana), has taught at Grambling State University and Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, and presently teaches American literature at LSUS. She taught at IUBAT in Dhaka, Bangladesh (summer 2014).
