A Photographic Exhibit
Travel has been my vice for almost twenty years. I came to photography through traveling the world. My first pictures began as simple visual documents of those trips. Eventually, I went beyond simple documents and began to travel with the purpose of creating photographs.
It has been an ongoing learning process—surely, nothing new—from planning where to visit, which subject to shoot, with which camera, what technique to use for processing these images, how to observe an event or space or person that crosses my path. I’ve learned to tune my sight and mind to the light, shapes, perspectives and to the attitudes of others. I’ve also learned that places and objects can—as people do—talk and have dialogues.
Nothing comes by itself. Everything I have collected along the way regularly comes together to show me an image that may not be the one I’m seeing at the moment, and right then, I know what it will . . .
