Mark Jarman’s latest collections of poetry are The Heronry and Bone Fires: New and Selected Poems, both from Sarabande Books. He has also published two books of essays about poetry, The Secret of Poetry (Story Line Press) and Body and Soul: Essays on Poetry (University of Michigan Press). Awards for his poetry include the Balcones Prize, the Lenore Marshall Prize, the Poets’ Prize, and the Joseph Henry Jackson Award. He has been a Guggenheim fellow and the recipient of grants in poetry from the National Endowment for the Arts. He is Centennial Professor of English at Vanderbilt University.
