Catherine Chandler was born in New York City and lived in Poughkeepsie, NY, and Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, before moving to Canada. She lectured in Spanish at McGill University’s Department of Translation Studies, and also served as the university’s International Affairs Officer for Latin America. She is the author of Lines of Flight (Able Muse Press), shortlisted for the Poets’ Prize, Glad and Sorry Seasons (Biblioasis), and The Frangible Hour (The University of Evansville Press), recipient of the Richard Wilbur Award, and three chapbooks. Her poem “Coming to Terms” won the 2010 Howard Nemerov Sonnet Award. Catherine lives in Saint-Lazare-de-Vaudreuil, Québec, and Punta del Este, Uruguay.
