Miriam O’Neal earned her MFA in writing and literature at the Bennington Writing Seminars in Vermont. She has published poems and reviews in AGNI, Blackbird Journal, the Guidebook, Lily Poetry Review, Nottingham Review, Ragazine, and elsewhere. Her honors include finalist in the Brian Turner Poetry Prize, Massachusetts Cultural Council Grants in Poetry, and Princemere Poetry Prize. Her translation of Italian poet, Alda Merini’s work earned a Fellowship in Beginning Translation from the American Literary Translators Association and a selection of her translations from Merini’s Rose Volanti were published in 2019 in On the Sea Wall. Her book of poems, The Body Dialogues, has just been released (Lily Poetry Review Press, January 2020). O’Neal lives in Plymouth, Massachusetts.
