Cornelia Snider Yarrington, PhD, is retired from the University of Colorado, where she taught writing in the Environmental Studies Department.  In her twenties she studied in Germany and France and lived for two years on the Island of Mindanao in the Philippines. A frequent book reviewer for Bibliophilos and a late comer to poetry, she has published poems in Bibliophilos and in journals such as Black Bear Review, The Lyric, Tucumcari Literary Review, and Westward Quarterly.  Her poem “The Porch” won The Lyric’s Quarterly Award for Fall of 2003.  She is currently working on three collections of poetry, one of which was inspired by her childhood in rural North Carolina. She has also published in Ellery Queen’s Mystery Magazine.
