Mick Ransford is an Irish short story writer living in Ireland. He worked at all sorts of things, traveled fairly extensively, returning to Ireland to concentrate on writing. He has just finished what he hopes will be his debut collection of short stories.

Mick Ransford has been published in The Sunday Tribune in Ireland, in The Stinging Fly (their best-selling anthology, These Are Our Lives), Cuirt, Comhar, West47, Me Three, Scribble and in Poetry Ireland. He is a regular contributor to Irish radio. His work has appeared in school textbooks and in several other anthologies. He won the Galway Now short story competition some years back. He was also short-listed for a PJ O’Connor Award and a Hennessy Emerging Fiction Award.
