Thaisa Frank's work is the author of three collections of fiction, including Sleeping in Velvet and A Brief History of Camouflage (both by Black Sparrow Press, 1998 and 1992) and Desire (Kelsey Street Press, 1984). She is the co-author of the non-fiction book, Finding Your Writer's Voice  (St. Martin's Press, 1994.  Her work has been translated into Spanish, Portuguese, Finnish, and Polish and her short stories and eassys have appeared in numerous anthologies the most recent of which are the short stories, Piercings, in A Literary Dictionary of Sex (Bloomsbury, May 2008),   stories, Henna and The Enchanted Man (AbleMuse 2008, in print and on video),   New essays are Writing to the Stranger TK,  Toba Sojo, Artist of Human Consciousness and Father of Japanese Manga (VOLT 2008), and  Voltaire's Impossible Possible Worlds  (Viking/Penguin New American Library, January 2009). She is on the advisory board of UC Berkeley's Post-Baccalaureate program in creative writing,  lectures at Occidental College in Pasadena and teaches in the graduate program at USF.
