Stanley P. Anderson has been writing poetry and fiction for about 35 years, has published poetry in various literary journals, including Whole Notes, descant, The Lyric, The Mid-America Poetry Review, Midwest Poetry Review, Kansas Quarterly, Forgotten Ground Regained, The Raintown Review, Contemporary Rhyme, Prairie Poetry, Spillway Review, and The Cortland Review, and has published flash fiction in VerbSap, River Walk Journal, and The Scruffy Dog Review.The poem “Something new” is part of “The Scarecrow as Romeo: A Tawdry Sonnet Sequence,” which is about a scarecrow in love with a farmer’s wife in central Illinois.

Stan has worked as an editor for the United States Department of Agriculture, Natural Resources Conservation Service, since 1974. He has a Ph.D. in English from the University of Maryland. He is married and has three sons.
