David Mason was born in Bellingham, Washington in 1954. His books of poetry include The Buried Houses, The Country I Remember, Arrivals and the verse novel Ludlow. He has also published a book of essays, The Poetry of Life and the Life of Poetry, and has co-edited textbooks and anthologies, including Rebel Angels: 25 Poets of the New Formalism, Western Wind: An Introduction to Poetry, Twentieth Century American Poetry, and Twentieth Century American Poetics: Poets on the Art of Poetry. His book of memoirs, News from the Village, will appear in 2010. He teaches at The Colorado College and lives near the Garden of the Gods with his wife, photographer Anne Lennox.
