Hi, friends!
The San Diego Master Chorale is having its spring fundraising campaign, which (among other things) might get us closer to making our October 2024 concert (celebrating Robert Frost) accessible remotely. We will be collaborating with high schools near the San Diego/Tijuana border, including students who live in Mexico but cross into the US to attend high school each day. We will be partnering with the Robert Frost Society for this program, and might be able to make those lectures/readings accessible remotely, too, if we can raise enough money now.
Here's
an inspiring 1.5-minute video featuring SD Master Chorale soprano and San Ysidro High School choral instructor Wendy Charines, talking about what our past programs have meant to her and to her students.
Donations (tax-deductible for US-based donors) on May 31, June 1, and June 2 will be matched 1:1 by the board of directors, which includes (cough, cough) my real-life alter ego.
[EDITED: Fundraising link deleted, since the campaign is now over and it no longer works.]
Thanks for letting me make my pitch for this worthy cause, uniting poetry with music.
