...with Charles Martin selecting Marion Shore as the winner of formalism's highest honor for a single poem, the Howard Nemerov Sonnet Award!!! This is Marion's second win in a competition that usually draws about 3,000 entries.

(THUNDEROUS APPLAUSE!!!)

(Alex comes out from behind the curtain and gives Marion a big hug)

(flashbulbs pop)

(brief commercial with the cast of Desperate Housewives urging you to subscribe to Measure so you can read Marion's masterpiece)

(brief, tearful and gracious thank you speech by Marion)

fade to black...

Great!!!! And to think, I knew her when she was a pisher who had won only once.

Which sonnet was it? Have we seen it at Erato?

Wow! Great, Marion! If it's as good as your last winning sonnet -- well, it had to win!
