[Tim Murphy]

Les Murray has written me a really sweet letter. He took three substantial pentameter poems, and he apologized for declining some shooting poems. Here is what the great man said.

"Sorry about the gun poems. I spent 30 odd years from childhood in a war against rabbits which we farmers were losing! I shot myself sick."

I've done that myself.
