We can move it to Deep Drills if it's what people want, but there's no actual ''need'' to. The Oldie don't consider posts here as ''previously published'', hence we've left it on D & A.

It's just that traffic's got so slow here lately. Let's wait for a few more pennorths, eh?

Ann, I became so paranoid about my exceptionally long losing run that even Deep Drills no longer reassures me. In fact, I would like Deep Drills to be buried so deep that it can only be got at by fracking.

Heroic Me-lodrama

Adieu ye posts, ye hold my hunted tracks ;
Farewell deep vaults, ye taught floods but to ebb ;
Adieu world; I go to the dark Deep-Web,
Shallow in such depths, I'm the sole who hacks.

No Solace like the Truth (no Scapegoat either)

Truth stands that my submissions never win
Upon another truth, I sent none in.

Brian, Annie, Erik and all D-&-A-ers,

An exceptionally long losing run is ONLY due to the fact that there are now so many of us at it - and space in The Oldie is limited to just four winning entries, maybe five at a push.

Take heart; I'm certain that 'slow traffic' here doesn't have any bearing on the results!

Maybe Tessa doesn't give a wotsit, but many editors do, and I like to think I may be able to recycle the ones that don't quite make it into The Oldie (for instance, my "ring" entry is currently under consideration elsewhere).

Are poems posted here as well-protected as the ones in the critique forums? And if not, what do we have to do to make sure they are?

Jayne, I wasn't referring ONLY to The Oldie!

I’ve been long sunk by traffic. But to ebb—
Deep Drills were light to the Dark, yes, Deep Web.
The dawn of day will blush in vain to crack
A peep, no humanoid can either hack,
So passworded, deep double-damned and dim
These eyes alone are those that get to skim.

I've asked Alex if he'll set up a new sub-forum for us in Deep Drills, for The Oldie comps. (I don't think I can do it myself, as a new thread would come up as either a Speccie or a New Statesman one; this is a job for the Mother Ship.)

On reflection I think it's a good idea. Worry no more, D & A-ers!

(And Brian, a bit of a dry run for you means there's a ghost of a chance for the rest of us! )

Yes, but the funny thing is this, Jayne. When I was posting my Staggers and Speccie entries on the 'Sphere, I went several months without so much as a mention. The very week I stopped posting, I had a win in both of them, and again two weeks later. You will say "coincidence", but it makes yer think, dunnit?
