Congratulations to Sally!

Her poem, "Bees" appears in the current First Things! And best to Jody for choosing such a fine and original poem!

Way to go, Sally. I'll look for the poem.

I tried to prod Sally into making the announcement herself. I'm glad you did it, Terese. Wiley has a poem also.

It's a fine poem, Sally, and in a venue I'm proud to share with you and other poets I admire.

Congratulations.

Bill

Now you've all gone and made me blush. I was going to get around to it sometime, Bill . . . I'm glad you mentioned Wiley's fine poem as well.

My thanks to Jody, too, not only for choosing the poem, but also for all the wrangling we did over it, which pushed it to its final form.

Thanks again, everyone.

Sally

I should have been the first to post this thread, but my copy of First Things arrived late. Poems by Eratosphere's own Wiley Clement and Sally Thomas, plus a translation of a bit of mystical Mariology from a poem by Henri Ghéon.

Ain't it fun having a magazine? As the editor-in-chief of First Things sometimes says in one of his Borgia moods, "God has given us the magazine. Let us enjoy it."

Jody

Just read Sally Thomas's fine poem on bees in First Things. I was also impressed by Wiley Clements epigramatical little poem on Arlington. Very tight. Great job, guys.

Congratulations, Sally! And I love bees. I don't get First Things, unfortunately, and despite my eagerness to read the poem I am far too prim and proper to request that you PM me a copy, so I guess I'll have to content myself with imagining what a fine poem it is.

If I can get it to format right, consider it done.

Rose, in a couple of weeks, go here:

http://www.firstthings.com/index.html

and click on "Previous Issue"; the poems will be available then.

Enjoyed your poem, Sally!

Cheers,

Ralph
