some recent stuff
1. Today I received the latest issue of The Same, which includes my villanelle "Spoken By a Ghost". No online issue, but they do have a website (although the new issue cover is not yet shown) -- www.thesamepress.com.
2. Thanks to Tim Murphy's interview with Catharine Savage Brosman in Able Muse, I learned that Ms. Brosman is poetry editor of Chronicles and sent her some poems. Practically by return mail (setting an example for editors everywhere) she accepted a poem called
"Brother and Sister."
3. I'll also have a poem in the next issue of Think Journal, this one called "Death of My Old Maid Aunt".

Good for you, Gail. Catharine Savage Brosman is NOT indecisive, and she reports to no committee, nobody, one of the reasons I so esteem her as my editor. And besides that, her boss, Tom Fleming, sends enough moolah to keep Feeney in kibble all hunting season! Given that you're both Louisianans, I'm surprised you didn't know her.

I'm happy Gail will also have a poem in the next issue of Lavender Review. You're on a roll, Gail

Congrats, from another big fan of the Brosman lightning-fast response.

Congratulations, Gail. Glacier-quick responses are definitely a lot more common than lightning-quick ones. Always a great feeling when it happens.

Posting again here to ask Gail or anyone: what's the best (and lightning-fastest) way to submit poems to Catharine Savage Brosman?

Congratulations. What an amazing variety of venues you're in, Gail. I wonder if anyone else publishes in both Lavender Review, a zine "dedicated to poetry and art by, about, and for lesbians" and in Chronicles, whose official editorial position, as repeated last month by its star contributor, Pat Buchanan, is that "homosexuality is unnatural and immoral and same-sex marriage an Orwellian absurdity," and that Thomas Jefferson made perfect sense when he "equated homosexuality with rape"? I do know, however, that both readerships will be fortunate to have a chance to read your poems.

Ok, I'm submitting to Chronicles for sure now. I've got one called "Lingua Lesbian" that sounds just right. But Roger, you left out the key phrase: "or whatever might appeal to a lesbian readership" (that would be me, basically).
