Default Deck-the-Halls 2011 Call for Submissions (was Deck the Boughs with Holly)

Deck the boughs with holly - the poems: what you do is send them to me at
jwhitworthpoet@talktalk.net and leave the rest t me. I look forward to it.

Addendum (from Alex)--

This is Deck-the-Halls 2011 call for submissions. This call is verrrrry late, so try to send in your submissions ASAP to John. The submissions were supposed to be sent in Oct 28-Nov 20, with the event Dec 9, but some adjustments obviously now have to be made.

Deck the Halls is an annual event that celebrates the Sphere's achievements for the year. It showcases poems that have (1) appeared on the boards of Eratosphere at some time, and (2) had something happen to them, such as either workshopping, or winning a contest, or being published, during 2011. Originally the criterion was just "poems workshopped during the year" but lots of such poems are still out in submission, so we've broadened the field.

Poems that have been on the poetry critique boards, Translation, or D&A are all eligible. Free verse and formal verse are equally welcome. If you have more than one eligible poem, you can submit up to three.

1) Send your submissions to John, submission DEADLINE: Midnight Dec 6, 2011

2) Event will start as previously scheduled Dec 9 when John will begin posting the finalists he's selected. And any more details are to be filled in by John.

3) As scheduled all those months ago, John is both Host & Distinguished Guest for this event.

Default Deck-the-Halls

Hi Cathy,

This is Deck-the-Halls for this year call for submissions ... (and it looks like John is having a pre-decking fun with that well-known designation).

Just to make things clearer, I've edited his announcement above, plus added the submission dates.

Cheers,
...Alex

Did you mean 2010, Alex? or 2011?

PS - I forgot to ask, how many poems are we allowed to send to John?

Hi Martin - It's 2011. And up to three poems as indicated in the 4th paragraph (overall, in the first post).

That's up to John ... So, jump in, John, and specify your comfort limit.

No limit, except that which propriety dictates and the fact that at my age I have a short attention span, more than 50 lines and my eyes seem to glaze over. However, for genius I make an exception.

That's not fair, John. Just treat me like everyone else.
