Nemerov results
Last night I got an e-mail from Bill Baer letting me know that the winner of the most recent Nemerov sonnet competition is Marty Steyer, for "Caliban Is Not." The judge was Sam Gwynn.
My own "State Fair Fireworks, Labor Day" is a finalist this time, and that's a first for me in this contest, so I'm pleased.
Did anyone else get similar news? It's always fun to see the list unfold here. Otherwise we can get Michael Cantor to pester Bill Baer for the full rundown of finalists

Congratulations, Maryann! And kudos to Marty Steyer and the other finalists as well!
I'm so pleased to join you on the list of finalists (my fourth time there--always a bridesmaid--but a happy one), for my "Sorting."
We'll get a complete list via snail mail shortly, I think.
Who else????
P.S. Happy to add congratulations to Gail White and Cathy Chandler. Such fine company I keep!

I'm also in the finals, with my sonnet "Cat Hoarder", a variant on my bake-off entry. I owe a special thanks to Maryann Corbett for telling me this one could be a contender.
Congratulations to all!

Congrats to all.
Maryann, I didn't enter this year, so can't really press Bill. Why don't you do it. Or Jean, since she's practically a full-time finalist. I'll e-mail you his address. (And if you want to suggest that he considers releasing the names of all the finalists and winners at one time and publicly - like every other contest does - I will happily support you.)

Congratulations to Marty, Maryann, Jean, and Gail! I have had no e-mail from Bill Baer, so I assume that I am not among the finalists. I agree that it would be nice to have the whole list publicly released at once after the winners have been informed.

Huge congrats, Maryann! And to Gail (highly decorated Nemerov vet) and Jean (quite a fantastic record, I'd say!) and Marty!

Will do, Michael. It occurs to me that Bill will need to get return e-mails verifying that all these sonnets remain unpublished and uncommitted before the list is really final, so I'll give it a little more time.
I see on Cathy Chandler's blog that she too is a finalist; congratulations, Cathy, Gail, and Jean!

It was a great bunch of sonnets. Anyone know Marty Steyer?

It'll be a very warm January when Cathy isn't a finalist.
More congratulations!

Gail, It's nice and warm down here in Uruguay ;-) !
Kudos to Marty, Gail, Jean, Maryann and the other finalists, whoever they are.
Sam, I can only find one of Marty's poems online (so far).
