Thanks, Gail. One can never predict a judge's taste, so any poetry entry is a shot in the dark. On the other hand, I can hardly complain about not having been a winner when I would never have written the poem without the contest. With luck, the poem will eventually find a home elsewhere. Meanwhile, the contests are sparking all kinds of light verse for me, at a time that I am too busy, generally, to write at all. Here's to fun (and congratulations to Bill).
