Dear Friends,
I’m writing my friends to let them know that I am in the studio with musicians John Clinebell and Ariana Hall to record a CD titled “Tokyo Burning,” based on my book of WWII poems, Tongue of War: From Pearl Harbor to Nagasaki.
It’s a professionally-produced album of 14 songs, and it is nearing the end of the recording phase, and moving into the mixing and mastering phase.
We are reaching out to our friends to ask them to help spread the word about the album, and to ask them to consider pre-ordering it or donating to the recording fund (even $1 will help to create some energy around the project).
We are doing this via Kickstarter.com, a website that allows you to help fund creative projects by giving your funders rewards, in this case ranging from a download or hard copy of the album to a full house party or to me reading and commenting on your poetry manuscript.
I've uploaded a video on the Kickstarter website to introduce the "Tokyo Burning" CD, and you can hear John Clinebell, Ariana Hall and me talking about the project and singing some of the songs by clicking the "play" arrow (see link below).

You can hear two full songs performed live (though without the full band) on YouTube at

Any help in spreading the word about this will be deeply appreciated.
