Default some formalist stuff

Just a line to say that I should have a sonnet in the journal "Interpreter's House" this month (possibly already out in the UK, in case any of you Brits come across it).
Also a variant on the villanelle, "The Road to Endor", will appear in the next Tilt-a-Whirl in early 2013.

That's great news, Gail. Two excellent venues and an excellent poem.

Thank you, friends. And behold, the Int. House came in the mail today, containing lots of good people, including Tim Murphy (with 4 poems), John Whitworth, and Rory Waterman. So congratulations to all!

Congratulations, to the other IH folks as well.

Gail, I am curious about how you submitted. I tried them once with required SASE and got a reply by return mail that the issue was full which was disappointing to a hoarder of a small stash of UK stamps. As far as I know there is is no internet option.

Janice, submissions to foreign journals have become almost impossible from the US, since our shoddy postal system no longer puts out International Reply Coupons (at least I can't get them in a small place like Breaux Bridge - does anyone know anything different?)

At any rate, I believe I must have sent a submission to IH in the mail and asked for an e-mail response, as I have an e-mail on file in my "acceptance" folder. Hope this helps. Doesn't give you any stamps, though.

Thanks, Gail, IH used not to take email submissions, there was not even any email address to be found. I know there is a new editor and maybe things have changed now.

IRCs are phased out here too. That is why I have to hoard my stamps.

The editor of The Interpreter's House is Simon Curtis, a most excellent man and poet, a man of integrity and worth. I suspect him of sound conservative principles, though I doubt if they go as far as endorsing Senator Romney. I think Janice, that if you included your email address, you would have no need to dig into your hoard of English stamps. You would lose the copies of your poems of course, but that wouldn't matter much. I follow this procedure when I submit to foreign magazines.

Thank you, John, I'll give it a try again. The former editor said explicitly that she didn't respond to email. Some journals both US and UK don't want to do business by electronics, they won't even respond to a query about submitting via email from abroad. But there is no dearth of those who will so I just go merrifly to the next.

For the record, Romney has never been a senator, he is a former governor. Of Massachusetts, no less, traditional Kennedy turf.

Scusi, Gail, for rudely using your thread.
