String Poet Prize
I’m thrilled to announce that my poem “The Autumn Way” has been selected as the winner of the String Poet Prize for 2014.
The first-place prize includes $1000, publication in String Poet, and an invitation to read the poem at the Awards Ceremony in New York on September 20. Also, an original piece of music will be performed at the Awards Ceremony—a composition inspired by my poem and created by a professional composer. That’s amazing!

That's great, Richard! There's a good chance I'll be there to watch you receive the award, and to listen to the musical composition, as I was when Jean won the award last year. It's just a twenty minute drive from my house.

Nice work, Richard! The $1000 is great, but I'm guessing the poem-inspired composition is the real prize.

Congratulations, Richard! Annabelle does a fine job with the ceremony, and I think you'll agree that it's quite an experience to hear a piece of music inspired by your poetry! I think this prize must be one of the nicest pats on the back a poet can earn. Enjoy!

The composer is probably in hog heaven, too, given the music always found in your work. Congratulations, Richard -- a well-deserved win, I've no doubt.
Best,
Ed

Congrats, Richard.
I hope I will be able to attend as well, as it is not far from where I am living these days.

Richard,
So happy for you. That reading with an original composition is to die for! Break a leg on that big stage!
