Default Best of the Raintown Review Anthology is available for pre-order!

This was supposed to be out for Poetry by the Sea but as many of you know I suffered a personal loss which delayed the project somewhat.

Anyhow, it should now be available for shipment by Oct 1st, so go ahead and pre-order at the reduced price of $12 (Full price will be $15) or $10 if you are a contributor wanting extra copies.

Sphereans represented are Jesse Anger, Kate Benedict, Michael Cantor, Kevin Cutrer, Jehanne Dubrow, Nick Friedman, R. Nemo Hill, Jeff Holt, Charlotte Innes, David M. Katz, Rose Kelleher, Lance Levens, Austin MacRae, Rick Mullin, Tim Murphy, Frank Osen, Marybeth Rua-Larsen, Wendy Sloan, Rory Waterman, John Whitworth, Alan Wickes, James Wilk, Peter Wyton, and a couple of pen names, whom announcing would vitiate the point of the pen names.

Regular pre-order page is here, and if you want access to the contributor page contact me for the secret password!

Cheers!

Congrats to all concerned!

Having seen that the postage to the UK is $12.95, I'm hoping I'll be able to buy this in the UK. Is that the case?

Yes, Matt. You'll be best off waiting until it's available on Amazon UK in October and then buying it direct. Same for you Australian and NZ people also. USPS sucks postage-wise, unfortunately.

Actually, the high cost of postage is the reason why I've yet to buy a copy of Raintown Review. I don't suppose there's any possibility of distributing it in the UK, or maybe producing a Kindle version?

If you actually subscribe to the Raintown Review, as opposed to buying a back copy (which comes from me, typically), then Poetry Angel John Oelfke asks no more for a subscription internationally than for a US one. He says it evens out in the end and makes things less complicated. The catch is that you do have to subscribe for at least a year (2 issues @ $24). Go here to make that happen. The upcoming issue is well in the works and should be out this fall.

I just double-checked the way this works and the trick is NOT to put the location details in if you are trying to subscribe. It won't force you to and will genuinely just charge you the $24.

Hi Anna,

That's great news, and maybe something to advertise on your site as it may get you more international readers.

Unfortunately I couldn't get it to work. I tried to pay by PayPal and I didn't select international shipping, but unfortunately PayPal knows where I live, and when I logged into PayPal international postage was added, so I didn't complete the payment ...

So then I opted to pay by VISA and put all my details in (which necessarily include my location) and again it billed me postage, so I again I didn't complete.

Am I missing something simple? And if not, can I just send you a direct payment of $24 via PayPal along with my address and a note explaining what it's for?

best,

-Matt

Do the latter!

(I tested it out, by moving money between 2 Paypal accounts I maintain for different purposes, but it's hard for me to duplicate your circumstances exactly, so it's easier just to send me the $24 and I'll set you up with a subscription.)

Cheers!

Anna
