Default Literary Matters: 16.1

There are some very wonderful poems and prose in the new issue, by some fine poets: Cally Conan-Davies, Shane Mc'crae, Toby Martinez de las Rivas, Maryann Corbett, Morri Creech, D.A. Powell, and Carl Phillips among them: some of whom have posted here, and some of whom I am very honored to count among my friends. I am especially pleased that Toby allowed us to publish his great elegy for the death of Lorca and the unsayability of the mountain upon whose slopes so much darkness flared; and I am very glad to remember commenting on Cally's poem that is now in the wild:

Congrats Cameron and Cally!

Cameron, this one is new to me, and I really like it. Very pleased to see your poems getting out into the world in good spaces. I'm looking forward to more of it, and I've no doubt there will be.

Cally,

Great to see this wonderful poem again! I very much enjoyed revisiting it.

-Matt

Congratulations Cameron and Cally! I remember Cameron's, but not Cally's (first time I read it). I checked for a possible theme I might be missing. But seals and the undead didn't come up in anyone else's work. Stunning work, both. They seem to be on, or under, the same wave.
