Default 2009 Headlines

Anybody want to do some year-in-review poems?

Might be fun?

YEAR IN REVIEW

First there was January.
Next thing I remember,
I was weak and waking up
and told it was December.
I presume that in between
ten other months transpired.
I don't recall what happened then,
but they sure made me tired.

Political Year in Review

Obama took over
and on his first day
decided to give
a few billion away,
averting a crash
(in executive pay),
proving, despite
what his enemies say,
every bit ready
and willing as they
to guard and protect
the American Way.

Balloon Boy

The news trickled out that the boy hadn’t died;
he was hiding, he wasn’t along for the ride.
But something about the whole thing didn’t jive.
The media buzzed just like bees in a hive.

The anchorman asked the boy, why did you hide?
He glanced at his dad, “for the show” he replied.
Reality warped round a family of five...
BALLOON BOY IS BUSTED ON LARRY KING LIVE!

Pix of New Lover!
Supermarket tabloids scream
Even I have learned
To draw readers I must put
A Tiger in my tanka
