Default Deck the Halls call for subs?

I see by the calendar at the very bottom of the page that, in theory at least, the call for submissions for this year's Deck the Halls starts today:

Look here.

Since we've already got a lively event going on the Distinguished Guest board and it would be impolite to interrupt it, this is a better place for a heads-up.

(No, I'm not authorized to do this. I'm just doing it anyway, since I've so often enjoyed that year-end event.)

Maybe those in charge will answer questions. (Or maybe they'll adjust the calendar.)

Thanks for the heads-up, Maryann. I'll send a reminder note to Alexandra now.

Cheers,
...Alex

Default Here we go--The 2012 Deck the Halls Bake-Off

Hello, Good People!
Yes, the 2012 Deck the Halls Bake-Off will be going ahead! I apologize for the delay and thank you for you patience. We had a death in the immediate family and a trans-continental move to contend with. But we are back on track and looking forward to seeing your poems! It will be my great pleasure to host Molly Peacock for this event.
Due to all the chaos, I have pushed our schedule ahead by seven days. This means that we will be accepting submissions between October 29 and November 30 and kicking off the event itself on December 14. I’ll be posting two finalist poems a day ,which Molly will then offer her comments on.
Deck the Halls is an annual event that celebrates the Sphere's achievements for the year. It showcases poems that have (1) appeared on the boards of Eratosphere at some time, and (2) had something happen to them, such as either workshopping, or winning a contest, or being published, during 2012. Originally the criterion was just "poems workshopped during the year" but lots of such poems are still out in submission, so we've broadened the field.

Work (up to three poems) can be sent to me at aeaoliver@gmail.com. Remember, you have until November 30th.

Thanks for your patience. Off we go!

Alexandra

Huzzah, Alexandra! Thanks for your help.

And while thanks are important, I'm replying largely to bump up this thread so that everyone sees Alexandra's reply.

As Poem Appreciation is winding down, maybe we could have an announcement on DG.

It's great, Alexandra, that you've been able to get the call for submissions posted. I'll move/copy it to the Distinguished Guest forum where people are quite likely to look for it.

Cheers,
...Alex
