After seeing Andrew Frisardi's clerihews, I wanted to write one, so I wrote one about myself. Then I thought it might make a fun exercise for 'Drills and Amusements'. Just thinking of all your last names and the possible rhymes was fun. Here's mine:
It's been said of Anne Bryant-Hamon
she enjoyed playing double back-gammon.
While thinking outside the box
she pondered poetic phlox.

Don't everyone jump in the pool all at the same time!
I can't resist doing a Kenny Clerihew:
The lovely Ms. Janet Kenny
shines bright as a pretty, new penny.
She loves to feed hungry, fat birds,
then she captures them with her words.

Anne:
This was too amusing to resist. Here are a few of my attempts. I apologize if they are not the mot juste for these particular victims--somebody with a better attendence record than I could probably be mo' juster...
Old Michael Juster, he
is not as snide as he uster be
but I've heard it denied
he's devoid of snide.
Michael Cantor
is not much for idle bantor
but years ago, I shot the breeze
with the eminence grise.
Though Timothy Murphy
loves sailing on surf, he
lives in North Dakota
where there ain't one iota.
Porridgeface Beaton
did not learn naval warfare at Eton
but pastoral formalversity
at Glasgow University.
Dang, this is fun. Makes me wish I had more time. Being the father of 3 boys under age 6 is taking its toll on my literosity.
Gregory Di Prinzio
was in Salinas, now in San Jo'.
He vanished for a while (mishap?) then
reappeared upon a napkin.
Though Jim Hayes
Spends his days
In the town of Kilkenny
it never threatened Janet any.
Allan Sullivan
has never been full of in-
sincere flattery--
he is heart-of-the-matter-y.
Roger Slater
is an ighater
of poems full of witticisms
(not the worst of criticisms).
BTW, I just learned of Tim's near brush, so I'm slipping this in:
Murphy, you meany
don't make poor Feeney
fear for his master...
get weller, faster!

Charles,
I enjoyed these. Most especially the ones you did about Alan Sullivan and Jim Hayes.
I said auto-biographical, and you seem to have followed my suit in breaking the rules. All in good fun. Perhaps someone who knows you will write one about you. 3 kids under 6 sounds terribly exhausting. I've already been there and done that. It was tough.
Cheers -
Anne

Janet Alexa Kenny
thinks her name has too many
rhymes but the odds would be more evens
if she'd just stayed Janet Stevens.

One thing about Janet Kenny:
Her clerihews sure aren't skinny.
She builds them double wide
while taking them for a ride.

As a young meidel, Ms. Seree Zohar
Fell hard for the eidel Sharif, Omar,
her chance of true love only thinned
by learning he’s not of her kin’d.

Mary, Seree -
thanks for stopping in to play. I think these are a lot of fun. Please feel free to add more to your auto-biographical clerihews collections here.... afterall, Janet amply made her first one a double-wide
