I saw this profoundly moving and memorable film last night on DVD. Has anyone else seen it yet? (It is French-made, but I think it has been released in the U.S.)

It is about the seven Benedictine monks who were murdered by fundamentalists in Algeria in 1996. The subject isn’t sensationalized at all, though. It is used for a profound meditation on love and conscience and other essential things.

Don’t miss it, if it’s at the cinema now. I'd like to see it again, on a bigger screen, as it is quite artful visually as well.

I'm looking all over for show times but can't find anything near me; the nearest things listed are in Canada. It looks as though the movie may have just opened in NYC yesterday. I'm waiting eagerly.

I've seen rave reviews of this and already got in line for it with Netflix.
(Anything without major special effects, sex or violence isn't going to play for long at the local cinema. )
