Sonnet Bake-off - Call for Submissions
Sonnet Bake-off: Call for Submissions
Dear Eratosphereans,
If you wish to participate in the 2011 Eratosphere Sonnet Bake-off (and I hope you will!) please email me one sonnet per poet in the body of an email (no attachments, please) to:
catherine dot chandler dot poetry at gmail dot com
by noon Eastern Standard Time, April 3, with the subject line as Bake-off.
Your sonnet may be unpublished or published (although, as in the past, please do not send sonnets published in anthologies or trade press books).
I will then read all submitted sonnets and choose twelve to email to Eratosphere's very own Resident Distinguished Guest, Mr. R.S. (Sam) Gwynn for his comments.
Beginning April 15, I will post two sonnets per day, along with Sam's comments. After the usual discussions, we'll hold a popularity poll, whereupon the identities of all authors will be revealed.
A special thank you to Sam for agreeing to participate in this event. We are truly honored.
Now, please send in those sonnets !!!
Thank you.
Cathy

I'll be sending off the sonnets to Sam Gwynn later this afternoon. I received 68 sonnets.

Thanks. It looks like Sam was eager to get started, since two of the sonnets are already posted today, 12 days early.
Did you cull the 68 submissions for Sam, or did he do it himself? Seems awfully quick in either event. All the better, though, since I'm sure we're all eager for the fun to begin.

This is news to me! I said I would post the sonnets, two per day, beginning on April 15th, and that I would insert the anti-Google code. I'll ask Alex what's to be done. Thanks.

Catherine,
I hope you do whatever you think is right.
But I have to say, what a delightful surprise it was to see the sonnets posted ahead of time! It made my day!
I'm looking forward to the event -- as I always do, because there's no bake-off like the sonnet bake-off.

It was all my fault; I forgot what Cathy and I had agreed on. I'll be back in a week or so.

The wonderful thing about Alzheimer's is you get to meet lots of new friends and hide your own Easter basket.
