Default Among the translators

Two through the post in the past couple of days: the new PN Review, containing a batch of Antonio Machado translations done by Nick Friedman and a review by me of Philip Larkin's Selected, ed. Martin Amis; and the new Stand, with Adam Elgar's translation of Allesandra Lavagnino's story 'A Year in the Shop Window', a few of my poems, and a few of my dad's too.

It's great to be in the company of both Watermans, and your five excellent poems - what variety and quality!
And it's been a huge pleasure welcoming Nick to Translation, a massive gain for us over there.
Congratulations all!

I want that PN Review, I covet it. I'll pick it up when I go to London next month.

Congratulations to all of you. What a party.

Thanks, Adam. The two of those five I like best are my dad's.

Rory, which issue/number of PN Review is this new one? I have an online subscription, and I should think I'd be seeing these poems in "current issue," but they don't show up in the online TOC of number 202 (issue 38, number 2). And like Janice, I covet them! Congratulations to all involved.

Thanks, everyone. Maryann, I'm talking about two publications: PNR 203 and Stand 196. I think it's 196, anyway, but I don't have it to hand. I think what I wrote above might have given you the impression that we're all in one place but sadly that isn't quite true. Buy both!

Thanks, all. I'm out of town, and the post has been stopped (so it doesn't overflow the little box) for the next five days, so this is news to me. Unless something changes, I'll have 4 original poems in PNR 204.

Congrats, Adam. I'd like to get that issue. Will consult my credit card.

Nick

It's a great place to have poems, Nick. Well done, my friend.
