Hudson's 65th
The 65th anniversary issue of The Hudson Review is out (just in time for my own 65th birthday). My essay-review, "For All Occasions" examines American occasional poetry (including recent inaugural poems) and new books by Jeff Holt, Denise Duhamel, Chelsea Rathburn, and Alfred Corn.

Where is the like button? (Just kidding.)
A milestone birthday, congratulations. Alas, I don't subscribe, maybe I can read it via a library loan (we have that option) but it will probably take a long time. I'd love to read it, now that I know what occasional verse is.

I do subscribe, and I look forward to reading what you have to say, particularly about Jeff.

Wow, thanks Tim! And I have already thanked Sam (though perhaps too soon, as I haven't read the essay yet--he may tell the world that I am the worst poet he has yet come across, and by all means to stay away from "The Harvest"). Seriously, though, I can't wait until "The Hudson Review" actually comes out, at least in Dallas--all of the new periodicals arrive on Tue, so I am hoping to buy a copy tomorrow!

Thanks to a friend with a subscription and a scanner, I was able to read the review, and I say, with total sincerity, that I am most humbly in your debt, Sam Gwynn. In other words, THANK YOU!
P.S. Your review convinced me to read "After the Wedgwood Baptist Church Shooting" this Sunday, simply b/c of its timeliness. Thanks for that too!

Sam, this probably isn't in your control, but any idea when the new issue will hit bookstores and news stands? I checked the Union Square Barnes and Noble yesterday, and it was still the previous issue.

Congrats to Sam and everyone involved. Karen Kelsay posted a tiny snippet of Sam's review of The Harvestat the Kelsay Books FB page. Another cheer for Kelsay Books and White Violet Press. And three cheers for Jeff.
