The deadline is approaching for The 2014 String Poet Prize!

The String Poet Prize is an annual poetry contest sponsored by String Poet, the journal where poetry and music meet. In addition to a cash prize, String Poet commissions an original piece of music from a professional composer, inspired by the winning poem. Both poem and music are debuted at our Awards Ceremony in September 2014.

Here are the brief guidelines:

First Prize: $1000 and composition of original music for the winning poem
Final Judge: David Yezzi
Composer: Judith Shatin
Deadline: May 20th
40 lines max per poem (any style, any subject)
Entry Fee: $15 for up to 5 poems

Submissions accepted on-line and by post.
