Default A.E. Stallings for Oxford Professor of Poetry!

A campaign is taking shape, at least on Facebook, to urge the election of A.E. Stallings as Oxford Professor of Poetry. As I understand it, there has been enough support to get her name on the ballot (and I hope if I understand wrongly, Gregory Dowling or another Oxonian will set me straight).

I'm putting this here in the hope of getting the word out to those who are eligible to vote but who might not be aware yet of this push! I can't vote, but maybe some of you can!

More information here.

Wow, Maryann! Let's hope it happens.

Do you have a link to the Facebook campaign?

David, she's not stopping us from campaigning, so I think so! Perhaps she'll speak up here.

I was delighted to hear Christopher Ricks nominate Alicia for PoP in this video.

Absolutely stunning news!
Would she have to leave Greece and move to Oxford?

It doesn't seem that she would have to reside full time at Oxford. I'm sure she's up to it, including any Latin duties, and would enjoy the very late Hellenistic resonance of the Encaenia festival. Of course, I'm biased in her favor.
